Kansas City- City Market History, Murals & More
Early Days for the Town of Kansas
Where Kansas City’s Wild Past Comes Alive
Discover the untold stories of outlaws, mobsters, and immigrants who built Kansas City—plus stunning street art that tells their tales today.
Kansas City earned its “Wild West” reputation for good reason. When immigrants from New York, Chicago, and Italy arrived in the 1800s seeking better lives, they brought ambition, culture—and sometimes criminal empires. From saloon shootouts to mafia operations, from brave firefighters to notorious outlaws, these colliding cultures created the Kansas City we know today.
Join me to walk where it all happened and see how today’s street artists honor this complex, fascinating history.
