Located in the heart of the 18th & Vine District is the The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. It is the world’s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African-American baseball and its impact on the social advancement of America.

Walking right down the street we will continue our journey to The Jazz Museum. Since the museum’s inception in 1997, The Changing Gallery near the front of the museum’s entrance displays work centered around jazz, baseball, and the history of the 18th & Vine District.

Listening stations, touch screen interactives, custom mixing boards, and the John H. Baker Film Collection compliment a year-round display of artifacts, graphics, and commissioned artwork. Some highlights include Charlie Parker’s Grafton saxophone, a sequined gown worn by Ella Fitzgerald

The Day’s Adventure: We will gather at the pickup location:  1500 Lobby in the Convention Center. Gather at 9:20 am, departing at 9:30 am and travel to see both museums in one stop. Ample time will be available for each location and you will be free to move from one to the other at your choosing during that time. (about 1 block apart)  Tickets for each location will be passed out on the bus. Snacks and drinks will be available on or off the bus, but are not allowed inside either museums. Keep in mind the weather for Nov. and dress accordingly.
